Dard Roast Farm cultivates 465 coffee trees on 1.25 acres in the Kona Coffee Belt in Captain Cook on the Big Island of Hawaii. They also process their own coffee, first pulping the coffee cherry with a Penagos DH2 pulper and then using a Cape Australia K90 huller. Roasting with a Met Craft coffee roaster.
Dard Roast is owned by Dard and Penei Aller who both have many accomplishments besides coffee growing. Dard is a scholar and athlete as well as a Pastor, while Penei is a teacher, singer and successful owner of her own business, Beach Weddings Hawaii.
After attending Princeton University, Dard climbed the Matterhorn in 1969 and in 1973 earned a Masters Degree in Religious Study from Hartford Seminary and a Masters in Divinity from Hartford Seminary in 1974, becoming a Pastor in the United Church of Christ in 1975 an subsequently served as the Pastor for several different churches.
Dard has three children and one grandson. As if those accomplishments are not enough, Dard also finished six consecutive Ironman Triathlon World Championships in the 1990s and founded Kailua Bay Counseling Services in 1996.
In 2004, Dard married Penei who not only owns her own wedding business but also is a professional singer, musician, and music teacher as well as music therapist with the elderly. Penei graduated from San Diego State University and has two children and four grandchildren. Dard and Penei were married at Puuhonua o Honaunau in Kona.
Dard Roast sells 100% Kona coffee in different sizes and offers various options including their classic Kona Kili coffee, Kona Peaberry, and Estate-Grade Kona Coffee Beans roasted fresh once you place your order, and the bag contains the seal of approval of the Kona Coffee Council.
Also available through Dard Roast are a whole assortment of flavored coffees from Irish Creme to Chocolate Mac-Nut to Eggnog and many more. The Blueberry Cinnamon Crumble Flavor is described as a “fresh blueberry pie taste with a warm cinnamon background.”
Dard Roast is also happy to provide farm tours using their Kawasaki mule. Call 808-936-4657 for an appointment. The tour includes explanations of the growing, processing, and roasting processes. Dard Roast also grows Cacao trees to produce chocolate.

Hello. This is kind of an “unconventional” question , but have other visitors asked you how get the menu bar to look like you’ve got it? I also have a blog and am really looking to alter around the theme, however am scared to death to mess with it for fear of the search engines punishing me. I am very new to all of this …so i am just not positive exactly how to try to to it all yet. I’ll just keep working on it one day at a time Thanks for any help you can offer here.
